An old FO, A new FO, and The Yarn Tree

IMG_1368.JPGHola, everybody. I show you here my Baudelaires finally finished. IMG_1369.JPGI did less repeats up the leg than what the pattern called for which was just in time as I ran out of yarn!!! Patons Kroy makes for some really warm socks, let me tellya. I’m not too crazy about the toe on these socks cuz the toe looks pointy and I like square. But the heel looks fabulous and was super easy to do!! I will definitely be using that technique again.

IMG_1370.JPGI went to the Yarn Tree sale today in Brooklyn. IMG_1371.JPGHere you see the haul that will be making it’s way to my SP8 pal as the last two months combined (it’s missing a thing or two from the pic tho – handmade soaps and a felted cosmetic case I made for her.) In the pic: two skeins of Asti Alpaca with a Twist (50% Alpaca, 50% Pima Cotton) in blue, 1 skein of Koigu, Interweave Knits, Fall 2006 and Spin Off Summer 2006, and 2 oz. of handpainted roving (67% kid mohair, 33% merino wool). The roving is in this fantastic colorway that I fell in love with!!! Man, if I knew how to spin….but nope! I’m not ready for that step yet!!

IMG_1372.JPGNow here, you see my haul from the Yarn Tree. The brown yarn is a skein of that Asti Alpaca that my pal is getting, the brown & green multi is 150 yds of Chasing Rainbows Dyeworks (50% alpaca, 50% wool), Esmie chose that 100% Alpaca Frog Tree yarn to make a scarf (carrying it along w/some yarn from my stash), IK Summer 2006, and The Knitting Answer Book. This little book is cute and has sooo much info. Just flipping thru it at the store I found some good questions and answers.
IMG_1375.JPGAnd just for kicks here’s an FO I hadn’t posted on here yet. It’s an oldie. My cable clutch made from good ol’ Kitchener Cotton (the type they sell at Michael’s) double stranded. Blind Man (Gian’s godfather) lined it for me and put a little zippered pocket in it – gotta love Blind Man!!
