I had a breakdown yesterday. I had the kids pack up a bunch of stuff and I finally packed up my soaping stuff from one of the cabinets. We all got dressed and ready to lug it all to the new place. And then….
I couldn’t find my keys. My car key that I’d recently attached the new apartment keys to. Lost.
For the first time in my life, I lost my keys. I have NEVER not even as a teen EVER EVER EVER lost a set of keys. Never.
I was soooo pissed. I just sat down and started bawling. After a bit, I started IM’ing Necia who told me to basically calm the fuck down. But in a much nicer way. I love that chic. She is hyper and loud and warm and quiet all at once. Well, maybe not quiet. But she’s warm and comforting in a loud way!
Smooches chic. Thanks for helping to calm me down…somewhat.
Cuz after that….I started crying again. But softly this time. Just tears, pouring. Until about 10:30 pm when I fell asleep on the couch. Someone must’ve laid Rossani’s Sniffy over me in the middle of the night (Sniffy is this Pooh fleece blanket from when she was born that is practically thread bare in one corner from her rubbing it on the tip of her nose!). Could’ve been her or Tano or Esmie, or even Alex. I was completely knocked out. For the first time in MONTHS I had a dreamless, uninterrupted sleep….for 6 hours. And then I woke up at 4:30 and wasn’t able to go back to sleep.
My nerves are a serious wreck. I can’t wait for this move to be over with.
At one point while I was crying and bitching to Tano, I started knitting the ribbing on my Dancing socks. Apparently when I’m upset I turn into a ribbing machine. I only knit for about an hour on it and I did a bit over an inch of ribbing on the socks. HEY! That’s a lot for me cuz I tend to knit slower rather than fast, and plus, it’s two socks on Magic Loop!!! So technically, I knit 2 inches of ribbing in an hour!
Tano lugged the stuff we’d packed and the soap cabinet we’d emptied out to the apartment so today I’ll go unpack all of that and continue to set up my corner of the living room. (The living room in the new apartment is big enough that we have designated a good sized area for my HUMONGOUS desk, two soaping cabinets, numerous rubbermaid drawers full of supplies, magazines, yarn, soaps, etc., etc. etc.)
I can’t wait until this move is over.

soooo.. did you find your keys or did i miss that?
nope! never found them!
the couch elves borrowed them i’m sure!
Oh dear lord, a new baby AND a move? Um, when do they nominate you for sainthood?
I just went thru a move myself two months ago and my son’s five. I remember being an emotional wreck for both. You’re truly an inspiration to be coping with BOTH at the same time!
Oh geesh, you poor thing. Once you’ve settled down can you email me your mailing address? I got something for baby Gian
Take care.
Hugs,
Kitty
