Dancing Toe Up Socks

IMG_1612.JPGYarn: Dancing from Knit Picks
Needle: Size 1 Addi Turbo 32″ Circs
Gauge: 10 sts per 1″

Written for Size 11 shoe size (adjust accordingly)

Pattern:

IMG_1379.JPGCast on 36 sts using Crochet cast on as described in The Knitting Answer Book. I used the short-row toe method courtesy of Knitty’s Universal Sock pattern.

Continue in stockinette stitch until foot measures 9.5″.

IMG_1613.JPGIMG_1614.JPGI used the heel similar to that of Baudelaire by Knitty. I got the specs and instructions from the Generic “You’re Putting Me On” socks by Judy Gibson (thanks to Turtlegirl for that great tip!!!).

For the leg I did a basic k3p1 rib. This yarn has MEGA yardage; I felt like I was ribbing for an eternity! The leg is a whopping 9.5″ long!
IMG_1616.JPGI decided to do a Yarn Over Bind Off for its stretchiness but I’m not sure I like it too much as it came out all ruffle-y. I think next time I’ll just bind off loosely as I usually do.

IMG_1611.JPGI had very little yarn leftover! Gotta love toe-up socks which allow you to use up as much of the yarn as possible.
