The Wave

I can’t believe I’ve completely forgotten to post about my finished Print O’The Wave! What in the name of all things holy is wrong with me??

Finished Print O' The Wave Stole

It’s another one of my proud accomplishments as the edging took FOR.EVER. to knit! I’m totally fond of my stole as it’s lightweight and still manages to be warm. The pattern is well-written, of course. It’s Eunny Jang so we expect no less. 🙂  (Please excuse the crazy hair.  Windy, windy day!)

Ya’ll know I suck at guessing what a handpainted yarn will look like knit up.  I screw it up when matching it with a pattern. I have gotten better at it tho since I started swatching. But I kinda like how this one came out.  I don’t think I’ve seen others knit in a variegated yarn so if you know of some, please point them out to me so I can go admire the beauty!  🙂

I’m a little shawled out ya’ll, so I’ve been making tops now. I would one day like to replace ALL my sweaters and socks with only hand-knit ones. More on what’s on the needles later this week!

  1. That came out so beautifully! I’m usually wary of variegated yarn, because I have the same issue you do with visually ahead of time how they’ll come out, but that’s really pretty.

  2. Freankin’ GORGEOUS!!! And that edging looked SO worth the time and effort!

LOL @ what in the name of all things holy Haha!!

Yep I can actually catch a wave over here! Just beautiful!

And I LOVE your replacement idea but I could never knit up that fast! LOL

  3. Ohhhh….just gorgeous!!! I have been looking at this pattern but the edging scares me. Was it a nightmare to pick up all of those stitches? What about the corners…yikes!!
Your’s turned out just awesome, give yourself a big pat on the back!

  4. that is a beautiful shawl. I don’t think the variegated yarn takes away from the pattern at all. It looks great. Your new haircut looks good too. It took me aback at first, but it really becomes your face.

  5. Dude… you really hit the nail on the head with this handpainted yarn. It’s such a beautiful colorway and it’s perfect for this shawl pattern. BTW, you get new highlights or is it more noticeable b/c of the haircut?
