I DID say I wanted to knit more knee highs right?

I wasn’t kidding. These are the Toirneach Kilt Hose from Knitty. QUICK knit. Except ya’ll know I always have eleventyseven projects going at once so it took me longer.

The pattern for this is very well written. Simple, easy to follow instructions with a short lace repeat at the top. OH! And these are knit top-down which is NOT my normal method for knitting socks. I prefer toe-ups cuz my feets are a tad LARGE!

See? Size 11. He or she who gets a good swift kick up the ass with these puppies FEELS it! Trust me on that.

WOW! Thank you ALL for your wonderful comments and emails regarding my Capitán Hat! I’ve seen several popping up on Ravelry and I’ve made a few more myself in several different colors (no pix yet, but soon!).
Have you guys seen that movie? It’s one of my favorites. It’s about this girl that becomes a mule to come to the US. It’s a very deep movie.
But this post has nothing to do with that movie. This post is about Briar Rose’s Grace.

550 yards of gorgeous, shiny, bouncy, softness.

A worsted weight blend of merino, bamboo and nylon.

I couldn’t find it on their website so I believe this yarn is now discontinued.

Too bad as it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Inspired by many similar caps floating around, I decided to create one of my own. It’s easy to memorize and fits from a child to an adult with a big head or lots of hair! Knit this up in a couple of hours for a quick gift.
Best of all, it takes only ONE skein of a yarn that’s like drugs for your fingers! If you haven’t knit with Catalina Alpaca yet, you’re missing out. Hurry up and go get some before it finishes!
Pattern: Capitán by Rosi G.
Yarn: Catalina Chunky Alpaca, 1 skein (109 yds)
Gauge: 3.5 sts and 6 Rnds per inch in Stockinette
Needle Size: US 10 (I used a 16” Addi Turbo and dpns for the top)
Notions: 2 really cute buttons (the ones shown were purchased at M&J Trimmings)
