Purple Gable

posted in Uncategorized |

If anyone has access to Ravelry and has visited my projects page, you must know that there are a crapload of FO’s that I have not posted to the blog. Some are even from LAST YEAR!! I KNOW! I should have BEEN posted all of those. So what I plan to do is get to that. You’ll be seeing a parade of FO’s around here even though most are probably old. LOL
I’ll start backwards.

Purple Gable (1)

Whenever I have a ton of projects going, I always like to have that movie knitting project. Something that’s mostly stockinette so I don’t have to look at it too often. Recently, this was Green Gable, except mine is purple. I used some ONline cotton yarn I’d purchased from Cristi’s destash some time ago.

The lace rows go really quick as they’re all the way in the beginning and it’s really only k2tog, yo for X amount of rows. (Sorry, blurry pic!)

I love the length of the sleeve! Mind you, once you separate the sleeve stitches from your body stitches, all you have to do is do 3 rows of ribbing on the sleeves and bind off! Look at what a nice length that yielded. I’m happy with that.

All in all, a super quick, easy knit that added a very comfy cotton Tee to Rosi G.’s summer wardrobe!

  • Source: Zephyr Style
  • Yarn: ONline Linie 11 Alpha - 7.2 skeins (749 yds)
  • Needles: Size US 3 & 5
  • My Gauge: 6 sts & 7 rows per inch
  • Cost: $4 per skein, total: $28.80
  • Size knit: 44″-47″ Bust, XL because my gauge was different. Otherwise I would’ve knit the size L, 40″-43″ bust.
  • Started: April 17, 2008
  • Finished: May 18, 2008
  • Mods: I did sewn bind-offs on both sleeves. I did M1L and M1R to do the body increases instead of the k1f&b called for in the pattern. These are my fave increases. They provide such a nice neat line!  From the point where I separated the sleeves from the body, I knit 100 rows total for the body.

I think that’s the best lace top I’ve seen on a Gable. Most seem to flop or curl.
