I saw this pattern somewhere in the knit-o-sphere and I KNEW I had to make one. It was a bit slow going at times because: sock yarn + size 4 needles + size 46″ bust = a whole lot of stitches on the needles at once. But OMG is the finished sweater ever so worth it.

I only did the lace insert in the front as I felt it didn’t need it in the back (and it made for a faster knit).

I didn’t gather the neckline with a ribbon. I just let it lay across my shoulders boat-style.

I have to wear a tank under the top so my boobage doesn’t show. Heh.

The sleeve detail is awesome. I love the gather at the top, the length and the bit of lace at the bottom.

The pattern itself is well-written and easy to follow.

I gotta tell you that this is the sexiest sweater that I own. I have worn it ALOT after I made it and compliments abound when people see it. I feel great when I’m wearing it and feel all sexay!!! See my excitement?!

So, Zylphia, have fun on your airship. I’ll continue having fun in other ways!

The bulky red is Macho from Brooks Farm.  That purchase is all Keisha’s fault.  She [...]]]> As always, Rhinebeck was FANTASTIC fun.  I drove up on Saturday for the day with my buddies Jeanine, Keisha, and Tawana.  We always enjoy each other’s company and laugh.  ALOT!  I behaved and controlled my purchases.  Here’s my haul:

The bulky red is Macho from Brooks Farm.  That purchase is all Keisha’s fault.  She convinced Jeanine and I that we wanted bulky cowls so all 3 of us bought a skein of Macho.

The beautiful green is a skein of Eidos from Sanguine Gryphon.  That purchase is Jeanine’s fault.  She stood on that looooong ass Sanguine line for an hour an a half.  Long enough for the rest of us to wander around some of the grounds.  Long enough for me to realize that I wasn’t seeing anything that I was LOVING and therefore, texting Jeanine – who was still on the line – to please grab me a skein of yarn from Gryphon.  BTW, I’m glad I did since they are going out of business.  Well, somewhat — they are splitting the business in two.  This stuff is gonna be worth at least double soon.  LOL

The purple is Tawana’s fault.  It was the last purchase of the day.  She and I were wandering around the buildings and we passed by the Miss Babs booth.  Her stuff is always so beautiful.  I was proud of myself for behaving all day so I thought I could buy myself a skein of sock yarn.  Besides, sock yarn doesn’t count, right???  I asked Tawana if she agreed and she said yes and gave me permission. 

The beautiful butterscotch???  Yea.  That was ALL ME.  I have been eyeing that colorway for at least two years now.  I knit my Cable-Down Raglan in Shelridge Farm and I adore that sweater.  It has held up fantastically.  It washes and dries very well in my machines (on gentle, of course).

So, I came home with my bag full of Shelridge and immediately cast on for my 400th project:  POLE!!!!

Out of those 399, 3 are in progress, 12 are hibernating, and 15 were frogged.  That means that 369 are actually FINISHED projects.  WHOA, right?? 

Now, I’m trying to decide what that special project #400 will be.  There are so many things [...]]]> So I have added 399 projects to Ravelry.  See?

Now, I’m trying to decide what that special project #400 will be.  There are so many things I have added as faves.  Several things I have queued and I can’t make up my mind what I want to knit.

I probably need some sweaters since some of my old ones were either a) felted in the Big New Washer and Dryer Experiment of 2010, or b) getting kinda, well, OLD!

I really love Perla by Joji Locatelli (photo Copyright of Joji).  Isn’t it beautiful?  It’s knit on size 9 needles in Malabrigo Merino Worsted, so it should work up quickly, right?  I would probably use a yarn that’s a bit more rugged and won’t pill immediately, though. 

Pole, also by Joji, is another awesome sweater.  It has more of a circular collar.  Needles are size 8, 9 and 10.  (Photo Copyright anneleterme).

Let’s see….I need to knit a holiday gift for someone and chose this sweater from the new Knitscene (Photo Courtesy of Knitscene, 2011, GREAT issue!  GET IT!).  It’s called the Hawkmoth Pullover.  Laceweight, size 4 needles.  The person is petite so it should also be rather painless.

My girls need winter hats to accomodate their ever-growing mops of curls.  There are a few I’ve q’d up but my fave right now is the Vitraux Hat, but it’s knit on size 4 needles and I’ve knit a bunch of hats lately…..although it’s mostly stockinette so it would probably make for a good purse/movie knitting project.  (Photo Copyright DevinF, isn’t that baby’s face PRECIOUS??  This is such a great shot!  I love it!)

Then there’s always a lace shawl.  I have two that I’ve been itching to cast on for:

So, I have LOTS of things in mind to throw on the needles as #400!  It should be a memorable knit right?   (My 300th project was the Daycare Sweater.)
