Hello darlings!! Happy New Year, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, etc.
First off, thank you for all of your lovely comments to my Red Dwarf socks. For those that wanted to know it took 2 skeins of Schaeffer Anne doubled to finish them up. 🙂
33 years ago today my lovely MIL gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANO! He calls me an old lady because I’m a little over 4 months older than him! My sweetie gets pampered on his birthday as he pampers me on mine so that’s what I’ll be busy with today. 😉
In the meantime, there’s been knitting. I’m 3/4 of the way through a pair of those Torneach Kilt Hose I mentioned I’d be working on (sorry no pix).
This weekend I’ve been laid out SUPER tired watching America’s Next Top Model Super Modelthon and I barely knit three rows all weekend (my hypothyroid is fucking with my system so I’ve been out of it).
As far as resolutions for this new year I just want to continue to work on building my credit. I’ve sorta given up hope on trying to get a house. Houses in my neck of the woods are going for over half a mil. That’s in Brooklyn. Do or Die Bed Stuy to be more specific!! Can ya believe that? 😥 I have no other resolutions. I don’t do diets. FUCK no. Plus, I don’t have any serious vices that I need to get rid of (Thank the Big Man for that!).
Knitting resolutions: don’t really have any there either. I tried to do the Knit From Your Stash 2007 thing with my own rules where I got a prize after 5 projects, but that didn’t work. Although, I can say that if you look at my FO’s 2007 page, you’ll see that regardless of not keeping to that KFYS07 thing, I got a lot done. 69 total projects yo! WOO HOO! ’07 was very productive in the knitting department, indeed. 😀 I also tried the 52 Pair Plunge. Although that ends in April, I got 16 pairs of socks knit up in 2007. For some reason my drawer doesn’t agree with this count. That NaKniblahblah shit didn’t work either since that sweater ain’t finished either. I kinda suck at KAL’s don’t I?!
So that I don’t leave you with a picture-less post, let me show you how addicted I became to the Dashing pattern. I made a pair for Tano one Saturday. I loved them so much, I proceeded to toss the same cable pattern onto 3 hats: a bulky for Alex using Cherry Tree Hill Potluck Bulky, a worsted weight using Cascade 220 for Tano to match his mitts, and a sport-weight using Lorna’s Laces for a friend for Christmas.
