Post your answer. I’ll enter the correct entries in a random number generator and send out soap to 3 lucky people! :o)

ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?

There are 7 girls in a bus

Each girl has 7 backpacks

In each backpack, there are 7 big cats. For every big cat there are 7

little cats

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

1603?

um…10,990 legs?

I said 238…man am I dumb?

238 final answer 🙄

This made us crazy at work a few weeks ago….10,990.

Oh yeah, I could use more soap…I’m on my last bar from you! 🙂

come on… tell me 😉

210? 🙁 not sure, i think i need to go back to school.

10,990 ❓

I say 1582.

10,990

Thanks for the opportunity.

Denise

10,990 that seems about right.

10,990. That’s a lotta legs. 😀

10,990?

I love your shawl with the Addis — and the one you’re designing, too! Looks great!

10,990. who makes backpacks that big?

10,920 I hope.

Or the Masters was for nuthn’. 😯

uh…who cares how many legs there are? The more important question is why isn’t there yarn in AT LEASZT one of those freaking bags! 😈

10,990 legs. That’s a lotta legs! How big is that bus, anyway?

I’m saying 10,990, or 10,992, if there is a driver. 😆

There are no “legs” in “the bus”. (This is my “must be a trick question” answer).

However if you want to stick with logic, the answer is 14. Seven girls, two legs each. Nobody SAID specifically that the backpacks containing cats are actually IN the girls’ possession or ON the bus with them. The cats, therefore, are irrelevant.

Or, if this is a straight math question, the answer is 210. 7 girls with 2 legs (14 legs) each plus 49 cats with 4 legs each (196 legs):

{(7 x 2) + [4 x (7 x 7)]} = 210

I really over-thought this, didn’t I?

Ima say 1,582. I reeeeaaaaaally want that soap!!!!!!!

FAB-O I was just saying how I wanted (not need! Haha!) some more chamomille soap!! ;op

I am putting 238 legs out there!

Hope that is right!?!

10990. I got this in email a few days ago… from my professor. Ha! 😀

It has to be 10992! They all need a driver, don’t they?

There are 14 legs, two for each girl.

I’m going to say 240 because some is driving the bus too.

I’m hoping the answer is 10,992 so that I can win some more of that GOOD SOAP!

After heavy consideration and great anticipation of the soap 😛 I decided to change my answer to 10990 becuz there was no mention of a driver. AND THAT IS MY FINAL ANSWER. Plus I had help from a 6th grader 😉

I’m having flashbacks here. Aaargh, basic arithmetic!

There are 10,990 legs in the bus, assuming there is no driver on the bus.

10,990. My brain.. is going.. to explode!

1582

i got 238… but i’m looking at most of the other answers and thinking i don’t know what the hell i’m doing. 😳
