Ave Maria, Lola!!

My new choosThat was one of my favorite salsas!  I loved dancing to it’s fast beat.

Ave Mariiiiia, Lola, conmigo vas acabar!  Ay, mira, mira, mira, Lola, Lolita, te digo que conmigo vas acabar!

(translates to:  “Good Gawd, Lola, you’ll be the death of me!  Oh, look, look, look, Lola, Lolita, I tell you that you will be the death of me!”  :))  )

For today’s Yarn PrOn, we have Schaeffer Lola in Chocolate Covered Strawberries.  One of the acquisitions on my first Loopy Ewe order.  (Gosh, these pictures SUCK this week!!  WTH!)

Seriously, folks, if you’ve never used this yarn, you MUST rush over there and get some.  It’s so squishy and soft and sooo warm and shit it’s even washable!!  WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!!  I plan to order more for me, too, because I’m gonna need a hat and maybe even a scarf to go with my new Peekaboo Mittens that I made with the Lola.    I only used a little more than half the skein for the mittens so I figure that with another skein I could probably do a hat.

Hey, don’t forget about the contest going on here at Chez G for the first 6 finished Fuego Socks.  I know a few of you are busy knitting them up.  I promise that the prize will be well worth the effort!   😉

A couple of FO’s

I’ve been steadily knitting over the past couple of weeks on various projects (gotta get rolling on my Yarn Diet: Round 3!!!). I don’t have any yarn in mind yet that I’m salivating after for when I finish this round but I’m sure SOMETHING will come up. You know we knitters don’t exactly have a problem with that sort of thing! LOL

For now, here’s two things I knit up on Sunday. Stash busting!! WOO HOO!

Fuego Socks

Well, here it is folks.  The finalized Fuego Socks pattern.  I’ve named it Fuego (“fire” in Spanish) in honor of the yarn I used which is the Ablaze colorway from Yarn Ahoy (btw, they’re closing shop for a couple of months so get those orders in!!).

This pattern is a super fast and easy knit.  It only took me a month because I was only knitting on it during commuting times and I was also fussing with the pattern.  Feel free to share it with all your friends.

The first 6 people to submit finished Fuego Socks will be entered in as contestants.  The 6 pictures will be posted here on my blog and a poll will be posted over yonder on the right sidebar.  Anyone will be able to vote for their favorite Fuego Socks.  I’ll keep the drawing going for a couple of weeks and the winner will receive some of my fave sock yarn.  I have a few favorites so I have YET to decide exactly which one.  😉

So get knitting folks and show me some socks!

PS:  Be gentle with me – this is my first publicly released pattern.  If you run into any errors or what-have-you’s please send me an email to soapy.knitter AT gmail DOT com.

Thanks for visiting!
