Sí, Capitán!

Inspired by many similar caps floating around, I decided to create one of my own. It’s easy to memorize and fits from a child to an adult with a big head or lots of hair! Knit this up in a couple of hours for a quick gift.

Best of all, it takes only ONE skein of a yarn that’s like drugs for your fingers! If you haven’t knit with Catalina Alpaca yet, you’re missing out. Hurry up and go get some before it finishes!

Pattern: Capitán by Rosi G.
Yarn: Catalina Chunky Alpaca, 1 skein (109 yds)
Gauge: 3.5 sts and 6 Rnds per inch in Stockinette
Needle Size: US 10 (I used a 16” Addi Turbo and dpns for the top)
Notions: 2 really cute buttons (the ones shown were purchased at M&J Trimmings)

Thrum Pr0n

As I mentioned in my last post, it’s been a lot about thrums at my house lately.  I’ve finished one pair of mitts and I’m 3/4 of the way through another pair but I need to make a run to The Yarn Tree for a tad bit more merino fiber.  In the meantime, I bring you my first finished pair.  I used Schaeffer Lola in the Sea & Surf colorway from THE LOOPY EWE!  (LOVE ME SOME LOOPY!)

They’re a bit stretched out on my big paws but these are a gift for a really good friend of mine, Maritza – she has smaller hands than me.  Hope they’ll keep her SUPER warm this VERY cold winter!

So I swatched and cast on to make a tam…that came out waaaaaay too small for me! BUT doesn’t it look GREAT on my daughter? I hereby present to you Li’l Rosi’s Sweet, Sweet Tam!
